DAMIEN DUFF - BLACKBURN ROVERS - 0068
Duffer made his Blackburn first team debut in May 1997 against Leicester City at just 18 years of age. The club was involved in a battle to avoid relegation from the Premiership. Caretaker manager Tony Parkes rang Duff, who was in Dublin on a break at the time, to ask him to get back to the club as the young Irishman would be in the squad for the Leicester match. Duff's parents returned to Blackburn with Damien only half hoping that the youngster might get on as a late substitute.
An hour before kickoff Parkes announced the starting team and the name Damien Duff was on it. While the result didn't go his way, the visiting team winning 4-2, the young Irish soccer star was voted Man of the Match. Despite the defeat Blackburn avoided relegation. Duff could look forward to Premiership football in the following season.

TERRY VENABLES - CHELSEA - 0063
He made his debut in February 1960 shortly after his 17th birthday and was a regular within a year. Chelsea were relegated in 1962, after a season in which Venables was injured and restricted to 12 league games, but were promoted a year later with Venables an ever present.
He was outstanding as we finished fifth, third, and fifth back in the First Division. He dominated the midfield, was strong in the tackle and a brilliant passer of the ball. He also had an eye for goal and against Roma in a Fairs Cup tie in 1965 scored one of the most impudent goals ever seen at Stamford Bridge. With an Italian wall encroaching at a free kick Venables paced out ten yards before receiving the ball at the edge of the wall and turning to score.
Venables also scored in the League Cup Final win, his only major honour with Chelsea.
Sadly though Venables fell out with Docherty after being one of eight players sent home for breaking a curfew before a game at Blackpool in April 1965 and within a year was transferred to Tottenham.

In 1996, Zola joined Premier division football club Chelsea F.C. He won the FA Cup with Chelsea and was voted the English Football Writers' Player of the Year in 1997: the only player ever to receive the accolade without playing an entire season. He helped Chelsea win the English League Cup, European Cup Winners' Cup and Super Cup in 1998. He helped Chelsea to win FA Cup again in 2000.

ROY BENTLEY - FULHAM - 0048
Having scored 150 goals in 367 appearances, Bentley is currently joint fourth in Chelsea's all-time goalscorers list, level with Peter Osgood as Frank Lampard topped the goal tally on the 27th of March 2010. He was top scorer at the club in each of his eight full seasons there.
Bentley signed for Chelsea's West London neighbours Fulham in 1956. At Fulham, Bentley was successfully converted into a centre-half, and they reached the FA Cup semi-finals in 1958, where he was once again on the losing side. In 1960 he left Fulham but again stayed in West London, this time moving to Queens Park Rangers, where he saw out the remainder of his playing career.

SEBA VERON - MANCHESTER UNITED - 0038
In 2001 Veron moved from Lazio to Manchester United on 12 July for £28.1 million in a five-year deal, the most expensive transfer in English football at that time. On signing for Manchester United, he was quoted as saying that he had no fear of the Premiership.
However, his spell at Old Trafford was not a great success. Questions over his performance led to an expletive laden tirade against the media by manager Ferguson in support of Veron. However, fans and pundits alike agreed that the signing was an expensive flop.
His transfer fee to Chelsea was about half that of his record-breaking transfer of just two years before.

JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK - CHELSEA - 0024
After leaving Leeds United for Atletico Madrid in 1999, he was in Spain for only a brief period and a year later returned to England, this time with Chelsea, for a club record fee of £15 million.
Hasselbaink scored 23 goals in 35 league appearances in the 2000-01 season and he finished the season as the Premier League's top goal scorer. He formed a productive partnership with Eidur Gudjohnsen in his second year with Chelsea, scoring 29 goals in all competitions and helping Gudjohnsen to 23 in a season which also saw Chelsea reach the FA Cup final. In his last two seasons with Chelsea the goals dried up. He scored only 11 goals in 27 games in 02-03, though in the next season he scored 17 goals in all competitions which made him top scorer at the club for the third time in four years. He ended his Chelsea career with 87 goals in 177 games.
